stephanie & bryan : after session in cozumel, mexico

I love to travel to new places and experience new things. And I love to create portraits of a bride and groom, especially on a day other than their wedding day so that all we need to focus on is the session! During my after session with Stephanie and Bryan in Cozumel, Mexico, I was able to enjoy all of that at once and the experience was incredible! We were able to explore this beautiful island where swimming in the water feels like you’re immersed in liquid gem. The clouds look so fluffy and soft that you just want to jump in them and roll around. It isn’t uncommon to see wild roosters and peacocks strolling through the beach as if they are vacationers like the rest of us. Sometimes it rains out of nowhere, but the raindrops don’t seem to bother anyone in the water, who continues to swim, snorkel, and enjoy the amazing texture that the raindrops create on the surface of the water. Then just as abruptly as they came, the dark clouds and rain would move out to reveal another gorgeous, sunny day. In just a few minutes of driving, you can go from calm, turquoise water at a friendly beach to another equally beautiful beach, where the waves are so powerful that you feel refreshed just by looking at them!

Stephanie and Bryan were a joy to work with from day one with their engagement session and they proved to be enjoyable to work with for their wedding and after session in Cozumel as well! They are an absolutely gorgeous couple but more importantly, they are both kind, considerate and so easy to be around! Don’t they look stunning in this beautiful island of Cozumel? I had so much fun with this session that I can’t wait for more opportunities in the future for destination weddings and after sessions! =)

stephanie & bryan : milton ridge wedding

Stephanie and Bryan had their wedding celebration at a cute venue called Milton Ridge. They both looked incredible in their wedding attire and were so full of excitement and laughter amongst their friends and family! Among this group were an adorable ring bearer and two sweet flower girls who happily obliged when I asked them to smile for the camera; I’m a sucker for cute children all dolled up for a wedding so you’ll see them frequently in the photos below! From a rose petal throw after the ceremony to a sparkler exit, these newlyweds were shown quite a lot of love from their guests! Congratulations to Stephanie and Bryan on their beautiful wedding! =)

natatia & peter : adams morgan engagement

Natatia and Peter were so fun to work with! We began their engagement session at the Brookside Gardens and continued it at Adams Morgan, one of their favorite places to hang out at. Natatia’s fondness for french fries at a cute little restaurant called Falafelshop led us there to take some shots, with Peter running out to get an ice cream cone from another shop (his choice of snack)! I love it when couples plan to incorporate an activity that they like doing together into the photos and it was so cute to watch them enjoying their treats together! =) Here are a few of my favorites of this sweet couple!

annie & brian : sheraton columbia town center hotel wedding

Annie and Brian had their wedding ceremony at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Bowie, followed by a reception at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel. It was one of those weddings that reminded me of why I love being a wedding photographer! Annie could not contain her excitement throughout the day and Brian looked so happy with his new wife. Their friends and family were so warm and friendly, which made my job so much more enjoyable! One of Annie’s aunts, being a graphic designer, designed all of the various signage for the wedding, including the ceremony program, place cards, candy bar labels, etc. and they looked wonderful! Having a graphic design background, myself, I really appreciated how well they were designed and how it made everything so cohesive! It was touching to see the couple’s close relationships with their family from the beginning of the day to the very end, with the guys bonding over cigars outside! It was such a fun wedding to be a part of and I am so excited to share these images from their day!

Annie gave a special gift to her father, a tie made out of the same material as her wedding dress! I thought that was so creative and her father LOVED it! =)

They hired a company to place a photo booth outside of the ballroom, which allowed the guests to be silly with fun props! =)

meredith & erik : talbot country club wedding

Meredith and Erik had their wedding ceremony at the beautiful Saints Peter and Paul Church in Easton, MD. After a traditional ceremony, they immediately went to their reception at the Talbot Country Club, where we spent some time taking portraits out in the scenic grounds at the country club. The rain from earlier that day washed away the summer heat significantly and created a very comfortable weather for everyone to enjoy, not to mention that the overcast sky also created an amazing lighting for portraits of this cute couple! It was wonderful to capture Meredith and Erik having so much fun as they celebrated their marriage with a ton of laughter and dancing throughout the evening. Congratulations to Meredith and Erik!

stephanie & bryan : frederick engagement

I recently took a peaceful drive to Downtown Frederick for Stephanie and Bryan’s engagement session. Stephanie and Bryan are both from this area and this is a spot that they like to frequent together, so it was a perfect location for their photos! As for me, it was my first time there and I really enjoyed being in a place where I got to soak in the new environment and scenery. One of my favorite elements of this place were the bridges at the Carroll Creek Park that were fun to incorporate into the shots.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of this fun, young couple! It’s a wonder how they can look so great look in the photos, considering that it was about a 100 degrees out! =) See you guys in a couple of weeks for your wedding!

rebecca & tristan : solomons island engagement

Over the 4th of July weekend, I went to Solomons Island to meet with Rebecca and Tristan for their engagement session. I asked them to meet me bright and early at 7:30 am and we all agreed that it was worth waking up a bit earlier on a Saturday morning! The weather proved to be amazing with a beautiful morning light and a cool breeze that blew Rebecca’s beautiful hair in all the right directions! =) During the hot summer season, especially like the one we’re experiencing now, mornings are a lot cooler and work very nicely for portrait sessions. Another benefit is that since most people are still in bed, we can utilize the outdoor locations with less people in the background!

As you can see in the photos, Rebecca and Tristan are quite an attractive couple! But what struck me is how beautiful they are on the inside as well! I had so much fun with this session as they drove me to various locations in the area including the Calvert Marine Museum and Annemarie Garden. I really enjoyed working in these new settings and using its scenery to create compositions that excite me! Here are a few of my favorites.
