Washington DC Engagement : Cathy & Vinh

After a few months of communication via e-mail, I finally had a chance to meet Cathy and Vinh on the day of their engagement session in DC. They’re both in the healthcare field, with Cathy just finishing up school as a dental hygienist and Vinh working as a pharmacist. They seem to be a perfect match with common interests like working out together, being active outdoors, and traveling, just to name a few. They’re one of those couples whose photos I look through and smile because they’re just so cute together! Here are some of my favorite photos of this lovely couple!

Old Town Alexandria Engagement : Andrea & Iday

Andrea and Iday have been traveling often to see one another, as Andrea lives in Chicago and Iday in New York City. In addition to visiting one another in the aforementioned cities, they have also been visiting the DC metropolitan area as they plan for their wedding in Maryland this fall! They recently flew down for their engagement session at Old Town, Alexandria, where I had a wonderful time getting to know them better before their big day. See you both in September!

Fells Point Baltimore Wedding : Jill & Nate

Who says a bride has to wear white on her wedding day? Jill looked absolutely stunning in her tan Badgley Mischka gown and the succulent bouquet from The Floral Studio added a perfect combination of texture and color to this non-traditional look. Jill and Nate’s wedding at Fells Point in Baltimore was intimate and lovely with just a few of their close family and friends. After a brief outdoor ceremony at the Fells Point Square, the couple celebrated in a brunch-style reception at The Point in Fells Restaurant.

Jill is a friend of mine who is also a fellow photographer. The first time I met her was when I was second shooting at one of the weddings she was documenting back in summer of 2010. At that time, I had no idea that I would be the photographer at her own wedding one day! For Jill and Nate’s engagement session, we met only a few days before their wedding at Historic Savage Mill. They were both relaxed, sweet, and seemed to have a lot of fun together! Here are a few of my favorites!

Southern Maryland Wedding : Mary Beth & David

Mary Beth and David are a sweet couple from Southern Maryland who tied the knot last month in March! The rain held off just enough for outdoor portraits at the bride’s parents’ home where everyone got ready. This beautiful location provided a wonderful backdrop for photos of the couple and their fun wedding party before heading to a nearby church for their wedding ceremony. The reception was held at the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, where the newlyweds had a chance to party with their guests well into the evening! Congratulations, Mary Beth and David!

College Park Maryland Wedding : Jung & Min

It was a special experience getting the chance to document my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding day. Seeing so many of our family and friends at the wedding, including a few relatives who flew all the way from Korea to attend the event, touched me greatly; I gained a deeper understanding on the importance of capturing people, especially family, at each wedding through photographs. One of the highlights of the wedding was when my brother sang to his new wife during reception, which everyone seemed to enjoy! Congratulations, Jung and Min, I love you guys!

National Aquarium in Baltimore Wedding : Harmeet & Kunal

It was a real treat getting to document Harmeet and Kunal’s wedding back in November. I enjoyed learning about and experiencing the cultural elements of their Sikh wedding ceremony as I was photographing their festive event. At the Guru Nanak Foundation of America, Kunal made a grand entrance on a horse, which is called a Baraat, and made his way to the Milni, an introduction and greeting of the two families. The celebration continued with an energetic evening reception at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, where the newlyweds and their guests had a chance to enjoy Downtown Inner Harbor and the various exhibits at the aquarium.

Georgetown Engagement : Grace & Yohan

Grace and Yohan’s engagement session was held at Georgetown DC, which provided a variety of backdrops for us to work with. The autumn weather started out quite chilly, though I’m sure that won’t be a problem on their wedding day this spring! I’m looking forward to documenting their upcoming wedding at the beautiful Sunset Crest Manor in May! See you both in a couple of months!

Washington DC Portraits : Laura & Jon

Laura and Jon wanted their engagement photos taken. However, due to their extremely busy schedule before their big day, it ended up getting pushed back until after the wedding. So here they are as I met them on a pleasant autumn morning in November, happily married and totally excited, as they are expecting! =)
