I’m very excited about a new blogsite that I created, using my new logo! Please visit the new site by clicking here or the image below. Hope to see you there!
The Japanese Teahouse at Brookside Gardens was the perfect setting for Laura and Jon’s wedding. This small structure overlooking the ponds was just big enough to hold some of their closest family and friends as they witnessed the promise made between this couple during their intimate ceremony. Although it was only for a couple of hours, it was a pleasure documenting the joy and excitement that this fun loving couple shared on their special day. It serves as a reminder that every wedding is unique and so full of hope and love, no matter its size or shape. Congratulations, Laura and Jon on getting married! I look forward to working with you again on your casual photo session this fall!

Mark is one of the friends I made when I first developed an interest in photography a few years back. Along with some of our other friends who enjoyed the endless possibilities that photography presented us, we went to various events in DC to enjoy each other’s company and to share our love for the craft. Then shortly after, Mark met Marlene and it was easy for us to see that they were inseparable! It was sweet to see their relationship blossom as they traveled to fun places together and posting photos from their trips for us to admire (by the way, Mark is a fantastic photographer and you can check out his work at http://www.marksumphoto.com)! As their love grew and once they announced their engagement, I was delighted when they asked me to photograph their engagement session! After years of being behind the camera, I’m sure it didn’t come naturally for Mark to be on the other side! But he was great and I loved the ways that they both took care of one another throughout the session. Marlene and Mark are such a nice couple and I’m so happy for these two as they begin a new life together!

It’s always a pleasure seeing photos of my couples featured on other wedding blogs and publications. I’m very excited that Bayside Bride decided to include Khanh and Derrick’s sweet engagement session on their blog! I’m smitten by Khanh’s description of the reason they chose Southern Maryland for their session. Khanh explains, “the engagement locations are special to us. Southern Maryland is Derrick’s hometown and I just fell in love with this place the first time I came to visit him. It’s amid the natural beauty of thick woods, colorful wildflower fields and the magnificent estuary formed by the Potomac and Patuxent rivers. When I came to visit, Derrick usually took me to the Chesapeake Bay, my favorite spot, to detox our mind and to leave all craziness from the wedding planning and our hectic schedule behind.” Click here to check out the full post of their sweet story and their photos!
